About

The ‘Long Story Short’ version

I’m a Greek/Irish graphic designer and illustrator based in Dublin, Ireland. I love drawing animals, the fluffier the better! But I draw other things too of course. Through my art I try to bring positivity and good vibes to everyday life, supporting mental health and wellbeing through humour, bright colours, and intelligent silliness. In a previous life I worked in advertising, and before that I wore many hats – salesperson, tech support, video game tester, the list goes on – but I am now happiest at my home office working on personal or client projects.

The ‘TL;DR’ version

Born in Ireland, I was brought up in a colourful environment on the Greek island of Milos, the very same where Venus de Milo was found (and belongs!). I studied Marketing & Advertising in Athens, the city of Gods, also considered to be the birthplace of Western civilisation. I later decided to explore more of my Irish side by experiencing life in Ireland. After a six month trial period in the form of an internship in Marketing & Sales at a non-profit, I had already started setting down roots in Dublin’s fair city and decided to stay for good.

Shortly after, I was selected to participate in the ICAD (Institute of Creative Advertising and Design) Upstarts. Through this programme for young graduates I got a first taste of the advertising industry, and worked on real advertising briefs while receiving mentorship and meeting some of the industry’s best creatives. After this my interest in the creative side of advertising grew, so I later decided to further my studies with a Master’s degree in Creative Advertising. In late 2016 I completed the MSc in Advertising at TU Dublin receiving a First Class Honours – an achievement I am very proud of. Around this time I also took on my first gigs as a freelance Graphic Designer, and the rest is history.

Since then I have worked as an Art Director, Graphic Designer, Illustrator and dabbled in UI/UX design. I have collaborated with a variety of businesses and organisations as a freelancer, both locally here in Ireland and worldwide. Now if you’ve go this far you may have noticed by now that I don’t mention studying design or illustration, which would be a fair observation! I am mainly self taught, having spent many long hours mastering design programmes – I mainly use Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.  And even though arguably artistic talent comes inherently, I never cease trying to develop my skills, be it through books or webinars.

When I’m not working on client projects, you’ll find me going between Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, drawing something or other. Some of my illustrations are available as prints or printed on a variety of merchandise. And when I’m doing neither of the above you might find me gardening, talking to my plants, working on some new DIY project I came up with, playing video games, trying to turn yarn into shapes by means of crocheting or needle felting, or just hanging out with my cats.
